Tina K. Hall Wins Title in CUES Next Top Credit Union Exec Search

CU Management

Tina K. Hall, vice president of organizational development, at Seattle’s Verity Credit Union, has won the Credit Union Executives Society’s challenge, and the title of Next Top Credit Union Exec.

Hall’s credit union project about work/life transcendence was voted in June to represent the West Region. As one of six finalists, Hall’s blog and video updates over the past few months provided the industry with insight into her project’s progress, and culminated with a final presentation in Dallas at CUES' CEO/Executive Team Network™ this week. Hall emerged the winner after a three-part scoring process that included a panel of judges, audience voting and online voting.

Hall exudes a passion for her work that is undeniable, and she is excited to share her enthusiasm with the industry. In her presentation, Hall notes “For us to get to where we need to be, we need to change the conversation we have with employees.” She sees the Next Top Credit Union Exec competition as a tremendous opportunity to share her project’s philosophy with the industry.

In accepting her honor, Hall talked about the challenge as an opportunity to learn more about herself and her passion for the credit union movement. In keeping with that, she offered to share half of her prize of $20,000 in CUES education credits with another finalist--and suggested that if each conference attendee contributed $50, another finalist could attend.

Calling it "a terrific idea," CUES President/CEO Fred Johnson accepted Hall's generous offer and quickly called Ronaldo Hardy who had scored second highest in the voting to the stage to share in the prize. By the end of the next session, Johnson said he had already received numerous texts offering $50 contributions and that CUES would match them. CUES will also contribute $2,500 toward each finalist's attendance.

The other five finalists include Amy Grothaus, CommunityAmerica Credit Union, Kansas City, Mo.; Amy Stanton, Connex Credit Union, North Haven, Conn.; Kelsey Balcaitis, A+ Federal Credit Union, Austin, Texas; Ronaldo Hardy, La Capitol Federal Credit Union, Baton Rouge, La.; and Jodi Chambers, Assiniboine Credit Union, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.

Hall will provide further project updates at www.NextTopCreditUnionExec.com.
