My suggestion for the position was based on my varied experiences at UMCU, including branch operations, lending, accounting, and compliance, as well as my knowledge of our core system and interest in programming. I recognized that there is often a language barrier between IT staff and other departments within the credit union and recommended the Strategic Liaison and Project Manager role as a way to bridge the communication gap.
The Strategic Liaison and Project Manager position has resulted in improved communication, a better understanding of priorities, more efficient execution of projects, and better strategic alignment at University of Michigan Credit Union.
