Ashley Kohlrus honored with leadership award

Ashley Kohlrus, chief operations officer for Allegacy Federal Credit Union, has been honored with one of the Winston-Salem Chamber’s 2016 Winston<40 Leadership Awards.

The Winston<40 award is given to 20 individuals that are excelling in their respective fields. The individuals are also actively influencing the growth, prosperity and quality of life in Winston-Salem and Forsyth County.

She has coined the mantra to ‘replicate and celebrate compliments’ and ‘coaching and mitigate complaints.’ One of her core values is life-long learning and she takes every opportunity to learn and grow.”

Kohlrus is active in the Winston-Salem community where she serves on the Komen Northwest North Carolina Board of Directors and currently is secretary on the executive committee, the Center for Smart Financial Choices Board of Directors, Hospice Foundation Leadership Council, Allegacy Benefit Solutions Board of Directors, and is the Credit Union Executives Society Carolinas Council Chair. She is also a 2010 recipient of the YWCA “Women of Vision” award and the 2012 Credit Union Executive Society (CUES) Next Top Credit Union Executive.

She received her undergraduate degree in Speech Communications from East Tennessee State University and her master’s degree in Leadership and Organizational Change from Pfeiffer University. She has also earned numerous certifications including Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), Society of Human Resources Management Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP), Global Customer Experience Management, and Credit Union Executive Society Chief Executive (CCE).
