12 fantastic applicants
The deadline to apply has come and gone and when the smoked cleared we ended up with 12 applicants from across North America. The quantity may be down from last year, but certainly not the quality!
Three of our regions have multiple applicants:
The other three regions have one applicant each.
- Sean Flynn representing the Northeast
- Christopher Byrd representing the Southwest
- Devin Selte representing Canada
These three uncontested applicants are now finalists and we'll see them in Vegas in November!
The public vote
We'll know who the other three regional finalists are after the public vote. From June 10–20, 2011, members of the credit union industry and the general public will vote for their favorite applicant in each region. The applicant in each of these remaining three regions with the most votes will become a regional finalist.
To be fair to all, the three uncontested applicants will also appear on the ballot to give their projects equal exposure and to give them a taste of the public voting component that is repeated in November.
What comes next?
From mid-June to the end of October, the six regional finalists will keep everyone updated on their progress by contributing two written blog posts per month and three videos to this blog.
All six regional finalists will come together November 6–9, 2011, at CUES' CEO/Executive Team Network™ in Las Vegas. Each finalist will present the results and progress or planning of their project to a judging panel comprised of CUES Council officers. The live audience will also vote for their favorite finalist. In addition, the public will be able to vote online. At the conference, the regional finalist with the highest combined score will be declared the 2011 Next Top Credit Union Exec.
