Where are you now?
I am the Director, New Banking Solutions with Celero Solutions (Credit Union IT Solutions partner) in Calgary, Alberta. I work with a council of leading credit union CEOs, an internal team and vendors and partners to identify innovative IT solutions to address credit union business needs, issues, gaps and new growth opportunities. Working as a team, credit unions and internal resources collaborating to support our credit unions IT needs into the future.
How did the competition help you in your career?
The competition increased my confidence in my ability to be creative, challenge the status quo, put myself into new roles and opportunities and take chances. It also provided me with new contacts and expanded my network. And, finally, it increased my knowledge. I reference and use my strategic planning learning from the CUES Wharton session I attended all the time. I would not have had the opportunity to attend that early in my career if not for my participation NTCUE.
What’s your best memory of the competition?
The entire experience of the final presentation and event was awesome. Meeting all the other participants, presenting, attending the conference, networking and touring was amazing.
Words of wisdom for those thinking of applying?
Take the chance, put yourself out there, you won’t regret it. Be creative, have fun, engage others in your journey and enjoy it. There is so much to learn about yourself and the others you meet along the way.
