Flashback: Zac King
Next up in our Flashback series is Zac King.
Zac King, 2013 Finalist
At the time of the competition, Zac was the AVP, Card Payment Systems at Redstone Federal Credit Union ($3.4B) in Huntsville, Alabama.
Where are you now?
On June 2, I became the Director, Transaction Services at the League of Southeastern Credit Unions. I am consulting with our member credit unions to help them strategically grow their payment programs.
How did the competition help you in your career?
The competition gained exposure for me to network and uncover vacancies in the open marketplace, which I was able to utilize in continuing my career path.
What’s your best memory of the competition?
Being able to share the strategies and tactics of my division with peers in the credit union movement. The videos, blogs and interviews were delivery channels to open dialogue and network with peers in the industry to share accomplishments and challenges.
Words of wisdom for those thinking of applying?
Stay focused on one main product or project that is your crown jewel. Be prepared to summarize and speak directly about your project’s value proposition and how it may be a game-changer for your credit union or the movement, as a whole. A few minutes allotted for your videos/interviews will run very quickly. Most of all, have fun!
