My CUES Emerge Program Experience
Wow! What an incredible journey it has been. Beginning with the application process in February, the past eight months have been an incredible professional development journey for me – culminating with the Live Pitch Show this week.
Our hand-picked 2021 CUES Emerge cohort of credit union leaders from all across North America started our classes and mastermind meetings in March, brainstorming ideas and formulating how to best communicate complex ideas through actionable business cases.
We delivered our business cases in June and anxiously awaited for the finalists to be announced in August. I was honored to be among the Top 5 selected based on the written business cases, and set out to build a compelling 7-minute presentation/pitch.
The live pitch show felt like a combination of Shark Tank, The Voice and TED Talk. I had the privilege to share my pitch to a live, virtual audience. Of course, all finalists wanted to put their best foot forward - and they did! Regardless of the final results, I already gained so much from the courses, discussions, written case and live pitch show - and we all earned our Certified Credit Union Manager (CCM) designation as well.
It has been a great pleasure to meet such inspiring leaders and I would recommend the CUES Emerge program to any emerging leaders in the credit union movement who are looking to increase their network, build a robust business case and have fun along the way.
